Aistear is the early childhood curriculum framework for children from birth up to the age of six years.  The Curriculum framework also provides guidelines on supporting children’s learning through play, interactions, assessment and partnerships with parents.   

Aistear helps students grow and develop into confident and competent learners through four main themes:

• Well-being
• Identity and Belonging
• Exploring and Thinking
• Communicating

Since  introducing Aistear into the junior classrooms in recent years, the children have excelled in learning, while being immersed in an imaginative world. With the support of staff and parents, the programme has grown in strength each year.

Some of  the most popular  themes have  been :  The Farm / Farm Shop, The Toy Shop, The Vets, Christmas, Travel, The Restaurant.
